Information: Childcare Areas

There are 4 themes that form the foundation stage, these are:
– Unique Child
– Positive Relationships
– Enabling Environments
– Learning and Developing

Within these four themes there are four commitments. These 16 commitments help, support and guide us so we can provide the highest standard of care.

There are still the six areas of learning within the EYFS too. These are:
– Personal, Social and Emotional Development
– Communication, Language and Literacy
– Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
– Knowledge and Understanding of the World
– Physical Development
– Creative Development

Even though there are the four themes and the six area of learning a lot of the resources, opportunities and activities that we provide link to more that one of the themes or area of learning.

The early year’s foundation stage is all about inclusive practise, so our planning, setting, resources and assessments are all bases around meeting every child’s individual needs.

Another large area of the EYFS is partnership with Parents so if any parents have any idea’s suggestions or want to get involved in any of our activities please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

If you have any questions or queries about the EYFS please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff who will be more than happy to help.
